Hi gang-I'm thinking of getting a headset for playing counter strike and for chatting.Any suggestions on good gear?

Wouldn't worry about it mate, most anything will work just fine. Audio compression over the Internet makes the audio quality fairly low anyway. So any mic/headset will no doubt be fine.

I would buy one with a long cable, volume control and mic on/off switch on by the headset on the cable.

But on the other hand, if budget is no issue, check out some virtual 5.1 sound set such as this one:

Just don't buy it if it's less then $10 and you'll be fine.

Very good, not expensive! If you dont get 1 of these 1 make sure the Mic is long enough to reach your mouth and is moveable (like the 2 posted) otherwise people wont be able to hear you very well!

I know this because of the last pair i had were crap!

I have the same ones as danger mouse

they work great. No problems thus far.

and they are cheap, so if you throw them against the wall when you got owned in CS like i do, then there is no problem replacing.
