I'm looking for a server that has good latency... i've ranged from 200 to 2000, depending on what server i went to...

    i like sniping :)

does anyone know a server that you got good latency with?

    Download GameSpy.
Let it search for your games.

Go into the filtering for Half Life (or CS if you've bought CS), and do the following:

First, use the filter wizard, and click all the boxes. The set max ping to 200
    Click ok.

Now click on reveall advanced options and do the following:
add, comparison, set it to "hopcount", numeric comparison, is, less than, (choose a number, try to stay low. I use between 10 and 20)

(If you have downloaded CS as a mod for halflife, and not bought the game, also add the following:
    Last, click add once more
    comparison, game, does, equal, cstrike)

    Ok

It should now look like the attached image.

Now all you have to do is refresh the Half Life/CS tab, and choose a server :)

If you still feel it's unresponsive, try setting the hop count to a lower number...

    Enjoy your sniping...

In your target line (right slick the icon) put -numericping, that will let you see numbers instead of those little graan and yellow and red blobs.
