CPU and Power Supply relation

I need to know what are the specs for a Power Supply that can support a CPU 3.6 GHz with HT.

I heard that if a processor like this is present, a good, reliable and high power POWER SUPPLY should be used?

What is the relation between them? (I mean, can anyone provide me with a table saying that a CPU with this speed should use a Power Supply with that power)??

The recommended PSU specs are not dependant on the CPUs speed, but the overall watt and amp requirements of the entire system.
