i have a question.

before i ask this question, im going to give some info.

test= 3dmark vantage
system mini specs: (4 systems: cpu + gpu)

q6600 + 4870
q9450 + 4870
Phenom II 940 + 4870
athlon64 x2 6400 +gtx 280

q6600 scores:
P9319 total score / 10,681 cpu score / 8940 gpu score
ORB - Compare

q9450 scores:
P8661 total score / 10943 cpu score / 8098 gpu score
ORB - Compare

the q6600 oc'd to 3.0ghz, while it seems the q9450 is running at stock

Phenom II 940 scores:
P8492 total score / 10075 cpu score / 8069 gpu score

my rig: (much lesser cpu than the above 3)
P1245 total score / 28,859 cpu score (?) / 10499 gpu score.
ORB - Compare

now i know my gpu is a tad better than teh 4870, so that part of the score means nothing,

what i want to know, why is my rig @ stock speeds more than twice as good on the cpu score than the other 3 cpu's listed.... it makes no sense unless these are bugous tests.
all of this info can be found here AnandTech - AMD Phenom II X4 940 3DMark Vantage score

i was thinking about that.

ill re-run my test with ppu disabled and see the new results.

edit: yup that was the kicker.

old cpu results: 28859
606.27 Operations/s Operations/sPhysics Test 123.3

new cpu results : 4866 (massive difference)
606.01 Operations/s Operations/sPhysics Test 8.14 (115/s difference)

thanks for the help peter
