CPU-which one is better?

  1. my family is buying a new pc, and we are not looking for a hing end pc just around 1300 CAN and the most important part is the cpu so we are looking for Intel cpu but im not sure whats the new technology for intel cpus, i knw that theres something called Viiv and duol core but no clue what they are so could anyone tell me what kind of cpu i shoul dbe looking for?

    Core 2 Duo is the newest Intel technology. Beats out anything on the market atm.

    Not sure about "Viiv" but dual core means the processor has two cores, which (if used properly by the application) vastly increases it's processing power.

    Currently even the cheapest e6300 core 2 duo processor outperforms most high end AMD cpu's. It would be a good idea to base your system on this.
