CRC .cab errors

  1. pitchblack Newcomer, in training

    Whenever I try to instyall a game on VISTA, I get a message that says: CRC error <filename> does not match the file in the setup's .cab file. I get it in both my disk drives, as well as on multiple games, mant of them new out of the box. How do I fix this??

    System Specs:
    ASUS Maximus formula mobo
    WD Caviar HDD
    ASUS DRW-2014L1T DVD-RW drives(2)
    Intel Q6600
    OCZ Reaper 800MHZ Ram(2G)
    ATI HD 3870

    Disable your antivirus. Test your RAM, test your hard drives. Look over the hard drive and optical drive cables and make sure they are all making good connections.
