DDR2 speed

I just ran CPU-Z to find what chipset I had. Got what I wanted but I was surprised to see my "DRAM frequency" was listed as 266MHz. My machine supposedly has DDR2 SDRAM running at 533MHz - does the 266MHz translate to 533MHz because of the "2" in DDR2 ? or was I cheated by my computer vendor ?

Possibly. Try this tool to get even more info: http://www.wintotal.de/server/system/everesthome220.zip

By the way what computer Make and model are we talking here?
But just check the above first
You can attach

the report if you like (note I say attach, not paste)

Dell DImension XPS Pentium 4 3.4GHz

I ran Everest (nice program) and it shows actual clock speed as 266MHz but "effective" speed as 566MHz. Guess I got what I paid for :approve: ?

I've stopped by before, looking for answers to other problems. But finally joined as I've seen some intelligent help being given - not always easy to find :D
