delayed write failed

    I am running windows xp sp2 on my amd athlon 2100 i recently purchased a western digital 250gb usb 2 external drive connected trough a belkin usb 2 pci card i have re-formated the drive to overcome the file size limitations and when copying a large file from my internal drive to this i get the message delayed write failed. The drive has no problems accepting small files and works ok as usb 1 but very slow.

    please can anyone help
