  1. Hello to everyone!
My question might seem very simple to some people but I am a new to tech stuff so it is quite not simple to me....
Here is the deal - I have two dell d600 laptops, one is broken and one is working. The one that is broken is the one I was using and I have all my info on its hard drive. I want to exchange the hard drives in order to use all my info. Is it safe to exchange the drives and will it work?
Both laptops have XP on them...
    Thanks in advance

It has a good chance of working, but even machines with the same model number may have different graphics controllers or integrated crypto chips.

Just try it - at worst it won't boot or will BSOD and you can just put back the original hard drive.

Another solution would be to buy a 2.5" hard drive USB enclosure and stick your drive in that.
