I have a D610 with a 1.73 ghz processor. However, the processor runs at 798 mhz max. Any ideas why?

It's probably just SpeedStep - it lowers the Multiplyer to save power when it's not working hard.

Yes, it`s designed to save battery power in Notebooks.

You can usually override it,in the Power Options applet in

the control panel,or you can download SpeedswitchXP which wil make it easier.

I think I may have realized this issue. I have been using a non Dell Power supply. My deel power supply died. The power supply I am using will allow me to use the D610 but will not charge the battery and is not recognized by the Bios.

I have purchased a power supply for my D610 and it should arrive on Wednesday. I hope this will fix the issue. What do you guys think?

Yes it does Tedster and I have just moved it.

However, pm`ing a mod to get it moved is better than posting to say it needs moving, as only mods can move threads. ;)

    Regards Howard :)
