I am actually suprised at what at least seems like good deals at the Dell Factory Outlet store. You can filter out items to only include previously ordered new products, so they arent even refurbished. Any opinons on it? It at least seems like a good place for general computing.

Old manager of mine for circuit city ordered an XPS laptop from the refurb site. Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, Geforce 8400gs ect ect. He only paid $550 + s&h. Amazing laptop, full warrenty, and the machine only had a small scratch on the lid that was hidden from him putting a cool skin on it. They have some good deals that should be checked often for laptops... I stay away from their desktops.

What would you suggest? HP maybe? Compaq? eMachine? (don't answer this)

I find Dell desktops (and laptops) to be very good
I have seen many Dells even very old ones last way longer than the others

    I recommend Dell
