DELL LATITUDE 400XT KEYBOARD "MISFIRES" ON SOME LETTERS

  1. THE KEYBOARD(S) ARE FLIPPING OUT! I HAVE SEVERAL SPARES THAT I INSTALLED AND THEY ALL DO THE SAME THING BUT WITH DIFFERENT KEYS. MOST KEYS WORK BUT SECTIONS DO NOT AND THE STRANGE THING IS IF I PUT IN ANOTHER KEYBOARD THE FAR LEFT KEYS Q,A,Z,X,1,` DO NOT WORK AT ALL AND AT OTHER TIMES IT WILL THROU IN M,N,<, EXC , F-1 AND THERE SEEMS NO LOGIC TO IT. I USED A DRIVE FROM ANOTHER DELL, AND WENT BACK AND FORTH AND THE GOOD COMPUTER THE KEYBOARDS SEEM TO WORK AND THE DRIVES, I DID A LITTLE WITH THE CONTROL PANEL SETTINGS FOR US ENGLISH AND NO CHANGE. ON A COUPLE OF KEYBOARDS INSTEAD OF ANY LETTERS I GET BEEPS WHEN I PRESS KEYS. I AM VERY CONFUSED ON WHAT TO DO. I EVEN CLEARED THE COMPUTER BIOS SETTINGS BY DISCONECTING POWER, INCLUDING THE INTERNAL BATTERY, REINSTALLED a-14 AND NO CHANGE. I HAVE LITTLE TO OFFER BUT GRATITUDE FOR AN ANSWER AND THAT YOU WILL GET PLENTY OF FROM ME.
