Hi;
I have a 4-1/2 year old Dell Inspiron 8100. It's working fine except that occasionally there is some interference on the display. I have found that "twisting" the base of the computer causes the problem to appear or disappear. It looks to me that there is a loose/broken ground to the display.

Can anyone tell me how difficult (or easy) it would be for a technical oriented person to repair this problem?
However, while I say I am technically oriented, I have a low threshold of frustration when it comes to such things. If the procedure is tedious or very time consuming I would probably not attempt it myself.

I have just upgraded this machine with a new fast 80G hard drive and a new battery, so it is certainly worth repairing the machine.

Thanks

FW
