Department of Justice gives Microsoft's planned acquisition of Nokia the green light

  1. The US Department of Justice has approved Microsoft’s $7.2 billion acquisition of Nokia’s mobile devices business. The official ruling came down on November 29 but wasn’t revealed until a December 2 notification from the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Competition....

    I like the acquisition, I just hope the Nokia division won't lose its own identity and that Microsoft keeps the Lumia branding.

    Good move by Nokia. Better sell before its too late.
     
  4. Now, if only the Canadian government would allow the sale of blackberry to Lenovo if Lenovo is interested.
    ...or to Microsoft if Microsoft is interested (due to patents held by blackberry)

    It's only just a question of time before Nokia and it's branded trademarks are consigned to the history books. Maybe with luck they'll keep the Lumia branding just like AMD kept the Radeon branding but I can't say, I'm not on the board of directors, I work for my money.
