desk top refreshes continuously

My desktop has started refreshing itself non stop, every second or two. It all started following my attempt to change my screen saver to EZPhoto Slide Show, which contains "my pictures." However, I had used this before with no problem, but on a different monitor. I had to get a new monitor and attempted this screeen saver change on it. I have no idea what to do or what is causing this. Please help? Chaplin5

I am sorry. My OS is 98 and speed is 350. Compaq (there's the first problem) Presario 5150 is the computer. Yeah, I know, I need to get modern. But it is only 3 years old.

Also, my problem is not intermittent, it is continous until I shut the thing down. I am able to run IE on my pipeline but even it seems to flash once in a while, faintly.
