I'm a PC gamer but this is total nonsense , A PS4 cant run it but a mid range PC can? . Total nonsense. Either they have crap engine and don't want to spend the time on console or there game has terrible optimisation. I've played BF4 on PS4 and it looks lovely and runs super smooth , better than on my mid range PC to be honest.
It's great this is a PC game and they are backing the PC but you look bad when you just make stuff up. Lies make you look bad.
Not that they need my money but I would be very wary of buying Star citizen on anything but a fast expensive PC.
I play Arena Commander on mid and high end. This game is not for current mid, no way. When they say mid, they are talking about mid level in 2-3 years. They are pushing development to its limit so that on release it really does demand some serious hardware. Making it for mid right now would be as bad is making it for consoles, it's a drag for PC gamer's. Especially the first guy who pledged $10,000 to #StarCitizen!
We need to stop talking about this game like it's out or coming out within months. Will anyone commenting here have the same PC in 2-3 years time?
If your struggling to understand why this game is hungry here is some points about what the game does that no other on a console does or will do for a while. You'll be flying a ship, your in the cockpit and while your in the cockpit the entire ships interior + exterior is rendered even if there is no other player in your ship. That is because there are components that can be damaged and you can look around using the cam. We're not talking STO or Star Wars where your interior is instanced. Now picture your ship being a frigate, it has corridors, rooms, moving parts both interior + exterior I.e. missile loaders and gun turrets which can be seen both outside + inside of your ship at the same time I.e your inside seeing missiles being loaded and attacking players see those very same missiles being fired. Actually individual missiles. Don't ask me what point the missiles spawn at but I assume it's out of sight.
All that with a level of graphics most people haven't witnessed. Add a battle to it, add Moon Collider technology which allows the A.I. to dodge asteroids while travelling fast during dog-fights. Add the fact that ships have 200 upwards components. Lots of small parts breaking off, different FX depending on what is being hit. Different behaviors depending on what components have been damaged or destroyed I.e. shields, individual thrusters, radar and even life support. That is in every ship.
A hell of a lot is going on in this game and it is not practical or worth talking about getting it on consoles at this time.
