Hi all,

I have an old hard drive for my pc that I would like to use as a backup device. Since it is not in my machine (and I don't want to put it back in), I am looking for a device that allows me to connect it via usb to use to backup my work.

I am sure I have seen these a while ago and they cost around £10-15, though I can't remember what they are called or what they look like, so I'm not sure what to be looking for.

Can anyone help?

thanks,

gubar

Hi thanks for that mate,

just saw one for about £11 on www.qtds.com (sponsored link on google).

Anyone know anything about the brand, and the supplier? Not worried about it being top of the range or anything, just practical and reliable.

cheers,

gubar

I would get one constructed from metal. If it has a fan in it, that's even better if you're not concerned with noise. The metal will help to dissipate the heat better than a plastic enclosure.

Cheers the advice,

looking at that one again, it is indeed metal and has a fan, think'll I'll go ahead with it.

thanks for the input,

gubar
