  1. >(DFI Lan Party nf4 Ultra-D)
    >Phillips CDR/W
    >Hard disc (once a Lacie external drive)
    ----------------------------------------------------------
the PC starts up but then I get an error messages :

''Boot disc failure'' & '' Media Test Failure ''

It seems as though I can't boot from the cd (maybe because it is a copied version/but it still works on friends comuters)???

Why won't my M.B detect the CD/DVD drive ?!!? , (Bios is set to boot 1st from the CD/DVD drive)

what can I do to make it boot from the CD ?? Or install windows another way..

Co are you saying its an ata (40 way plug with 80 wires)????

If so, the jumpers on both the hard drive and the CDR/W need to be set correctly!!!!

You can set them both to (CS) cable select or the hard drive to (MA) master and the CDR/W to (SL) slave!!!!

You cannot run 2 masters or 2 slaves on the same data cable!!!!

    Hi

Some CD machines wont boot unless set to Master, others wont boot unless set to cable select, some wont boot unless on their own channel and set to master/cable select.

    Regards
