DHCP allocator

    While trying to get my laptop to connect to the internet(wireless) it told me that it was unable to renew my ip address. So I went to the command prompt & release my ip & then renewed it & it told me that my dhcp server could not be contacted. I scanned my comp for network problems & it told me my dhcp server had an invalid ip address. I would greatly appreciate any help anyone could tell me. Thanks
