I've been having trouble with my laptop rebooting. I went through the shutdown troubleshooter & figured out that what is causing it to hang up has to do with dhcp.

I then looked at the event viewer & got this message: The address IP lease xxxxxx for the Network Card with the network address xxxxx has been denied by the DHCP server.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this??

I am running Windows XP & am on a wireless network.

    Thank you!

The wrong IP address would not likely cause your pc to reboot randomly..more than likely you have a fault with you NIC..I would update the drivers..if this fails replace it.

Do an(from command line) ipconfig /release

    then ipconfig /renew

see if this helps this will renew the lease but i dont know if it will resolve your problme

is this associated at only a specific location, or from your home-private network?
Have you updated the firmware of the router? you should if possible.
