Did I damage my RAM?

  1. I recently purchased Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 RAM, and for some reason I decided to take it out of the box, and I touched it without anti-static protection of any kind. I didn't touch the RAM connectors, but only the machined aluminium heatsinks. Did I damage my RAM with ESD? I can't check if it works because I don't have my Motherboard yet.

I would say 'not' - unless there was a blue flash and a tingling feeling. Honestly, if you were holding by the heat sinks and humidity was above 35-40%, damage is unlikely. However, when it does come time to put it in, remember to ground out on the bare metal of your case. Be aware of low humidity, as this permits heavy static buildup - http://www.microcenter.com/tech_center/article/4671/HOW_TO_Prevent_ESD
