When I go to Run>>>>Dxdiag it works ok but when I get to the Test Direct Draw and test Direct 3D the Direct Draw work ok but when I do the test on the Direct 3D it starts ok and I get the Direct cube floating and then the screen goes black and returns to the desktop with an error message.......Why does it not continue to do the other 6 tests? How can I fix this? I have the latest drivers for my sound and video card. What is the reason it happens?

You probably need (another version of) Detonator drivers.

Different versions of them can be found easily from Guru3D's Download Section.
