DirectX 9.0b problem

  1. Stevo23 Newcomer, in training

    I have installed DirectX 9.0b but Halo trial still says i need 9.0b. I noticed though that the directX files psisdecd.dll and psisrnder.ax 's Version, Attributes and Language were missing. I found the files in system32 but cannot replace them with the files in the Redist 9.0b file becuase they are always in use. Any help would be nice,

    I've marked where the two files are located and this is what it looks like,

    Please fill in your system specs in my.TS.forum at the top of this page(click on edit profile).

    I need to know what graphics card you are using is it onboard or offboard.

    Make sure that you`ve got the latest drivers for your graphics card.

    Your card and drivers must support DirectX9.0b in order for it to work.

    I am running a ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 8500DV with the chip type Radeon 8500 AGP (0x4242)

    I've just installed the latest Catalyst 4.1 drivers from the ATI Website.

    Main Driver: ati2dvag.dll

    Date: 10/26/2004
    WHQL Logo'd: Yes
    Mini VDD: ati2mtag.sys
    VDD: n/a
    DDI Version: 9 (or higher)

    I tried installing the DirectX 9.0c but the same thing happened as with 9.0b, some files were not able to be copied in the installation of the DirectX. On DxDiag it actually says i have DirectX 9.0c and all my Direct3D and DirectDraw tests were successful. But those two files still will not update which i believe is the reason the Halo trial does not recognize my DirectX version is actually updated.

    DirectX 9.0 Install Problems

    I just downloaded DirectX 9.0c and started to install it. It got to the point where it was copying files and it stopped and said it couldn't copy a required file and then the application went to another screen and it said "Install Failed". Is there anything I can do to get passed it so I can install it and make my new dvd writer work?

    hope all you smart ones can give me an idea here, :)

    downloaded the 33 meg version of directx 9.0 redist version to update my daughters 400 mgz system running 128 meg of ram & 98 SE

    when I try ti install it doesn't even begin & gives me a popup thet "Needed resources cannot be found" however it wont tell me what resources it needs lol trying to get this updated for her so she can play her new sims2 game which installed fine but requires directx 9.0 the old sims & all expansion packs ran fine on her system
