DirectX 9.0b to 9.0c transition problem

  1. dead_link Newcomer, in training

    i got win xp sp2
    i got directx 9.0b installed
    when i try to install 9.0c, it accept and stuf, then instead of installing it goes direct to installed window ( finished one )
    then when i check version in dxdiag it still it 9.0b
    even after restarting

    then i tried using xp lite
    i used it to remove 9.0b and tried to install 9.0c
    the same thing happened, it went to finished window
    then i tried dxdiag and it said
    "windows cannot find 'dxdiag'.Make sure u typed the name correctly, and try again...bla bla bla" puke:
