  1. hi guys,

for some reasons (files missing), I need to reinstall my DirectX (prevoiusly, 9.0c) for fixing some 3D gaming problems, and for some other reasons it's NEED to use DX9.

I used DirectX Happy Uninstall 1.2 uninstalled my DirectX (9.0c) with "Uninstall Only" selected, but experiancing DirectX Unhappy Install :dead: --I download the latest DX9c package but the file copying procedure were skipped by the wizzard when every time I start the setup with clicking the "accept license" and "next" but it told me it was successfully installed... wired... :suspiciou

so, I got a try on DX8.1 but the same things happend, the copying were skipped, and said successeed...

and then, I unpack the DX8.1 package and have a "Force Install" on all of listed inf file, after restart, there is no change, both of DX8 & DX9 installation still working that abnormal...

and here is part of my DxLog:

Try installing the missing DirectX files manually by decomressing the DX9.0c installation package and copying the missing files to their appropriate destination.

I cant exactly recall what utility you can use to decompress the DX install exe, so try WinZip 9. If that doesnt work, then there is an InstallShield utility that can do this (I cant remember the app name, so google is your friend - search for "Installshield utility") - thats if DX using installshield in the first place.

If all else fails, then backup all your documents and emails etc.. and re-install Windows.
When things go sour in Windows, its usually a good idea to start fresh anyway.
