I made a experience and disabled the pagefile (XP SP2. Restarted windows, went to windows explorer and there is no more pagefile in C:\ but When I launched Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL), windows iseems to be still using the pagefile. How is it possible? I disabled it...

I don't think you can disable the page-file completely in Windows. It still needs a small page-file because of the way it handles memory.

Edit: I stand corrected.

Wrong, you can disable the pagefile completely. In Vista it takes two steps, however.

coolink, Task Manager's "PF Usage" doesn't mean the actual pagefile.sys is in use, it just shows the amount of memory used.

You have to disable it, reboot and then delete pagefile.sys, otherwise it tends to stay on your hard drive. Well it always stays on mine anyway.
