Disk drive E: wont work

well my disk drive doesnt work when i put in a disk it says somthing like disk drive not functioning but when i click on properties its working properly what
do i do so that it can work when i go to nero it says it shows up on the tests but nver completes them and i cant burn so what do i do to fix this

is this a CD dvd ? how old? have you tried different media?

yes ive tried difrent media and its almost 6 months old

model of cd dvd
window's version
PC model

have you removed nero and installed again?

no do i have to re install it or totally remove it

well ill totaly remove it from now since i have the disk

well it says i cant get access to drive E: not funtioning properly when i use a blank cd and do i have to eliminate programs like power iso or magig iso or daemon tools or other programs like that and when i use dvd movie (scarface) it doesnt show anything
it looks like its tr5yning to load but it doesnt come out and when i take it out and put it in again it says please insert disk

Buy a new one, every time a peice of hardware has failed on me device manager allways says its working properly and none of the windows troubleshooters seem to help.
