Display driver stopped responding?

  1. I installed a new Radeon 9800 256mb card and have 1gb memory. I'm trying to play Ghost Recon Advanced war fighter. The game starts just fine then before the options menu the screen goes black. My error message is: Diaplay driver stopped responding. The ati 2dvag display driver stopped working properly. My question is, do I need to set up my video card differently or is there another problem?

Try downloading the latest display driver from ATI for your graphics card.

First, removed or disable the current drivers, then installing new drivers. If you current drivers are the latest, go back to an earlier version.

Does it only happen with Ghost Recon, Or does this happen with other games ?

Try driver cleaner pro ,, remove ATI,

then reboot and install latest cat 7.1 drivers,
