Display problem after upgrading to new computer

Greetings all, I am a new user here. I recently upgraded to a P4 3 Ghz machine using the same LCD Samsung I had on my old computer. Since I don't game I'm using the integrated Intel graphics card. My display now has vertical bands of softness intermittently across it. I've intalled all the required drivers etc. Would this be a graphics card problem, software, any ideas ?

You don't have a graphics card since your using integrated. Try re-booting several times to see if it improves. Sometimes when you change a CPU it could take a couple re-starts till everything is recoginized.

Thanks KPO but this is two weeks old now ...I've re-booted several times .... I was waiting to see if what you're suggesting would happen but no luck ....

If the integrated's the problem then installing a new graphics card would solve the problem, no ?

also reinstall the motherboard drivers.
