DisplayPort Audio cuts out during gaming

Hello,

I have a problem and hope someone might know what`s wrong.

When I play any pcgame sound stops working after 5 to 10 minutes,
but only when I use a DP Cable, with HDMI it works fine.
Movies and music work fine with either cable.

it`s actually not a huge problem, I just have to change plugs if I want to use my PS4, or buy a headphone cable extension. But maybe someone has the solution on hand.

Thank You!

Motherboard: Asus Z87-A with realtek onboard sound
Graphics: Gforce GTX 770
Monitor: Asus VN279Q
OS: Win 8.1

Good evening Tmagic650,

my monitor has one socket for each. As my new PlayStaiton4 only has an HDMI out, I wanted to use the DisplayPort Cable for my PC, so I wouldn`t have to change it all the time. It`s quite fiddely to change the cable at the back of the screen.

I`ll probably just buy a headphone cable extension, so I can plug my headphones in to the back of my PC.

As I wrote, the problem is not very tragic, but I thought, I ask, before I spend money for nothing.

cheers,

Lorenz
