DivX player stops movies too quickly

  1. Recently I wanted to watch the movie "Hot Fuzz" using my DivX software that is supposed to play these files. The problem that I'm having is about halfway through the movie, it stops short, displays an ad, and puts the film back at the beginning again. I have tried all sorts of things to get it to work, but to no avail. Does anybody know about DivX? Can someone give me a fix?

Now that you say that and I read my description of the problem again that does kinda sound like what's up, but I know that's not the problem.

Basically it shows that there is 1:59 minutes (or w/e the full length is) and at about 1:39 minutes it stops short. There was no part 2 to download or anything.

I tried a different player and I think what the problem is is that the AVI file is damaged or something, b/c the new player picks up on it and gives me that error and "tries to fix it".
