S Svoboda Posts: 70 +0 Mar 16, 2003 #3 Well you don't have to have the Steam beta or anything to play CS online. But yes you have to update all the way as 99%of the CS servers use version 1.5. Also make sure to update Halflife to like 1.0.0.8 or whatever the latest vversion is.
