  1. My computer has some wierd problems going on. In the start menu when i click all programs nothing happens. The only way to open it is to right click and then open it up in explorer. I have about 10 gigabytes of important files, and so was wondering if the repair install would delete anything other then the system files.???
    will appreciate the help, thanks.

repair won't delete any other files except windows files which it fixes. It would be a good idea to have backups of all your important stuff.
I suspect you have a virus on a torjan horse on your system. Download ad-aware and spybot.

also get a good windows repair program like nortan systemworks or registry mechanic.

i highly reccomend, in addition to what tedster mentioned, avg antivirus free edition (www.grisoft.com). both are free and they are proven, solid apps.

And do NOT install any Norton crapware! If you want your PC screwed up, noone is better at that than Norton/Symantec's bloatware!

ohh, systemworks is without a doubt garbage. on the other hand, norton internet security (available seperately) is pretty good protection. i've dealt with lots of different softwares, and none of them have anything on nis.
