Download problem

Another one. Now when I try to download any file not from a disk, I get the following:
The Signature of setup(download file).exe is corrupt or in valid. I had this once before and the fix was to go to Internet Options, Advanced and scroll to "Allow invalid files", did not work. Need help again. BTW I am running Win 8.1, Dell XPS 8700 .i7, 1T HDD, 16 Ram T.I.A.

If what you are trying to download is indeed an executable file - has an exe version - you might not have the right 'bitness'' for your PC. That is to say a 32-bit system cannot deal with a 64-bit executable. The converse is not a problem.

Mr GBHALL is correct, another item you will want to try is trying to download that same file in google chrome or Firefox to see if you get that same error? This will rule out IE Corruption. Let us know what you find.
