"download virus scanner" appears in system tray

Hi

i have a flashing icon in the system tray. which looks like a warning sign. and every few minutes shows a message to say download virus scanner.

can any1 help please. you can not right click on it or there is no name etc on it?

Click start then run and type "msconfig" without the speechmarks and see if you can spot it in "startup". If its there, take the tick out and restart your pc!!

Your system is infected with malware.

Go and read the Trojan Pakes and other nasties preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT and AVG Antispyware logs as an attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.
