Hey I just reformated my hard-disk and upgraded to windows xp. I just recently noticed when I'm downloading things it is very slow ,slower then before I reformated my hard-disk I have cable internet connection.I don't know what the problem is any help?? Thanks in advance.
Go to www.stardownloader.com and install either the free version 1.44 of StarDownloader, or the paid-for (optimised for XP and a few bells and whistles) newer version.
Either way, it'll function with all OS'es, it's ad-free and spyware free and the most recommended downloader.
As to your slow(?) disk, do a chkdsk /f and then a defrag. Empty Trash Bin.
Delete all files and directories from: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Temp
Repeat this for ALL [usernames].
Delete all files and directories from: C:\WINDOWS\Temp (except files dated from TODAY).
