Is there a way to check drivers in XP:Home Edition to see if they are working properly ?

Try this
Control Panel>System>Hardware(orsomethinglikethat)>Device Manager
Is there any conflict in there? Search for the device/s you're asking about and see if it' says ¨working properly¨ in ¨Properties¨ (right-click on the device/s)
If XP says everything's working okay, then everything should be working okay. If, i.e., it says everuthing's okay but some feature of your graphics card is not working okay, you may have a proper but out-of-date driver. Check out if there is a new version.
