I would really love for some one to help us on this. I have two ata 160 gb hdd and we are trying to have one operating system on each, namely xp and Vista Ultimate on the other. The vista is on the black ata socket which is Master and the xp is on the grey ata socket which is slave . Now we can see both hdd, but cannot find it in the bios, so that we can boot from either o/s. If we make Vista Master fine and disconnect xp manually, or visa versa with xp. But we just cannot get to choose which one we wish to use.

Is the bios settings the problem as it should see both shouldnt it. But somewhee Vista has a boot manager but we cannot find it and think it is a hidden file. I would appreciate any help that you may have to offer.

The boot order setting in the BIOS is usually under "Advanced" or "Boot"

You can set it to boot from -

HD 0 - (primary master)

HD 1- (primary slave )

HD 2- (secondary master)

HD 3 - (secondary slave)
