Dual channel mode

I have a Gigabyte GA-8I915G-MF i915G LGA775 and 2 1GBsticks of DDR400. It says im running on single channel when i startup. How would i run dual channel mode? I heard if the sticks of RAM are exactly the same they can be ran in dual mode.

if you have 4 memory slots and two stickks of ram then the memory should be in slots 1 and slot three

that´s correct. you should put in both orange slots to run in dual mode.

Dual CHannel

Your computer has to be able to support dual channel. If it has 2 or 4 slots, it probably is, and its 2002 or newer. If it has 3 slots, its not dual channel. Id suggest if putting both in orange slots still doesnt work, put them both in the two purple slots.

The board has four slots - try putting the RAM in the slots 1 & 3 (orange) first - if you dont get the dual channel mode - try puttings sticks in slots 2 & 4 (purple)- that should solve it.
