I haD 2 sticks of KINGSTON HYPER X ram (whatever in the heck that means), 512MB a piece. They are DDR 3200.

    A few days ago I bought a 1 gig stick of GEIL 3200 ram (model# GE1GB3200BSC) from FRY's ELECTRONICS.

I have an ABIT motherboard (model VT7) and I have the Kingston 512 modules in slots 1 and 3.

I know the new 1 gig module wont be dual channel but I want to know is, if I stick the ram in slots 2 or 4 will I still continue to get dual channel from the alreay existing Kingston ram in slots 1 and 3.

Also if you say no, if I put another 1 gig stick in (2 512's and 2 1gigs) will that reap DUAL CHANNEL?

I wanted to know because I cant open it and try without forgoing the return policy.

I also lost my manual :(

    Please help thanks.

Every Motherboard is different. Some will still dual channel the one set even with a third piece of memory in there. You really need to consult the manufacture/manual.

    Try this
