  1. Ok, I'm not even going to try to guess how many pics I have, but my question is this.
How does a duplicate file program determine a duplicate? By name given or by info in the picture?
I did a search in here for duplicate file program & found this link http://www.techspot.com/downloads/132-ccleaner.html
    which I already have & use.TIA :)

Ok, after I posted this, I read the info about ccleaner & saw this "Duplicate File Finder
You may not realize how many duplicate files are stored on your computer, taking up valuable hard drive space. CCleaner now includes a duplicate file finder tool, which can quickly find these files, (and allow you to choose which ones to delete) – freeing up more space on your PC than ever before!

The part in parenthesis () is the nice part I like. I'm hoping its easy to find in the program because I plan on using it today. Thank you.

The duplicate file finder in CCleaner is rather basic and can only compare files by name, size and date.

There are more powerful tools that also rely on matching by content, using checksums like the MD5 algorithm. Of course, this method is slower and will take a while.

One such tool, free and easy to use, is by Auslogics
