DVD Burner Doesn't Recognize Only DVD discs

Hello,

I ejected the disc as he driver took so long reading a burned CD (Imation CD-R), but the dics didn't come out and the light was still on. So, I restarted the PC, then my DVD Burner (ASUS DRW-1608P) doesn't recognize only dvd discs, but CD. Firmware was already updated a few months ago. Please help me if you can.

Have you tried to uninstall the drive in device manager and restart? That may clear up something, and if not, maybe you can update the firmware again?

Thanks

I already tried it. It said that my firmware is already update. Is there any other way to solve this problem?

use software to force a issue
like try to burn or play a dvd
don't just pop one in and read the explorer screen
leave a disc in and reboot
sometimes if you hold the dvd-rom button down on boot it will reset the system
last time I did firmware update the burner crashed after 2 days
last method total remove the device reboot then add device reboot
tried to do a down grade would not work
a have successfully flashed about 200 or so hardware devices ,but optical drives
I avoid
