I am setting up dvd burner. i read the manual for this and they are telling some something about master and slave. I am using IDE chennel. (I think)
now can some tell me how to set up my dvd burner.
    Questions:

    1. my hard drive how should it be set up. Master , Slave or Cable select
    2. How should I set up my Dvd PLAYER . Master, Slave or Cable select
    3. How should I set up my Dvd Burner . Master, Slave or Cable select.

I am using Maxtor hard-drive. so if some one can tell me the pin #s

    Thanks a lot.

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

1 You hard drive should be set to master on the primary ide channel.

2 Your dvd-rom should be set as slave on the secondary ide channel.

3 Your dvd rewriter should be set as master on the secondary ide channel.

I`m not sure what you mean by pins. The ide cable that goes to your hard drive has a line usually coloured red down one side. This should go into your hard drive with the coloured side near to where the power cable goes. This is pin one.
