DVD Burner just spins

    Just installed a new DVD burner and all it does is spin, does not ever start playing CD's or DVD's??

    Is it detected in BIOS correctly, is the IDE channel set to autodetect in BIOS,
    Check its plugged in correctly, try another IDE cable, check the jumper settings on it, put a bootable disk in it and see if you can boot the PC from it, change the IDE channel it's on......

    Try it in another PC and see what happens...

    If its still doesnt do anything,,,,,,, Return to supplier, or stick it in the Bin...
