  1. Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my dvd drive. On some games It works fine and reads. On others though, it wont run the games. When I manually run it, going through My computer, C, and the game I get a window that says " an error has been encountered and wants me to send it to Microsoft". Also it says, "AUTORUN/SETUP has encountered an error". Very werid, like I said, some games it will download and open the files and others it just wont let me do anything.
It's a computer built by Cyberpower inc.
Its an AMD ATHLON XP 2800.
The drive is called ARTEC-WSM 52x
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot.

    Welcome to TechSpot

Some drives simply aren't compatible with all copy protection systems game publishers throw at us. Maybe that's the issue here.

I wouldn't buy a new drive because of that, however, instead I'd complain to the ones releasing games or check if they have patches for that (yeah, very likely).
