DVD drive Vs DVD burner?

If i'm not going to be burning anything, just installing games. Can I just get a DVD rom Drive since they are cheaper? Or is it better to have the DVD burner since it has higher speeds (16x vs 20x speeds) or does that not matter when it comes to what I'm doing?

Read speeds are about the same or a bit higher with DVD-ROM drives. It varies a little from drive to drive. 20X is a write speed which doesn't apply since you won't be burning anything. CDs and DVDs are one way to back up data but if you have no need for burning CDs or DVDs, then go ahead and get the DVD-ROM drive. You won't be losing speed.
