  1. Im sorry if this has been posted but I wanted to know if some one can help me with a problem. I have 8x dvd-r's and I have a dvd burner that supposed to burn at 4x-8x but it burns at 2x which is really slow. I was told by a friend when I was at his house that you could make it go faster by changing some things in the computer concerning the control panel.

You don't say what program you're using, but there could be an option within it to change the burn speed.

Im using nero burning rom 7 and I tried changing the speed, only speeds allowed are 1x and 2x. It should go all the way to 8x or atleast 4x but it doesn't.

the burner is called ma-sh-it-a Uj-840D i got it from the nero info tool, but this site blocked it out. My write speed is 24x and my read speed is 24x. I am assuming that thats just for cd-r's though. It should write at 8x for dvd-r's though. Any help would be appreciated.
