    Hello, can someone help me i have a small problem with my DVD RW, this is my problem: I have Sony DVD RW DRU-710A and when i insert CD he does not respond only with DVD i put new frimware the "BYX5" and still nothing
    Please someone help me

    With your computer boot preference set for cd then hd, boot your windows install disk.

    If it isn't recognized, then it is likely the cd laser that is burned out (cd has a laser, dvd has a laser).

    You can try clearing the filters BUT unlikley to fix things:
