I have an older Hitachi TV which plays perfectly through the Strong set top box. When I try to play a DVD (I have tried 4 different players) it plays but constantly scrolls/flickers (like the old vertical hold problem). If I change the TV settings from PAL to another format, the DVD actually plays but its black and white and very grainy. I have contacted the manufacturer and been told "its an old TV". Before I chuck it out, can anyone suggest any solutions? I am using the red, yellow and white cables to connect the DVD player to the TV. I also see an HDMI cable there which is not connected. Should I connect that?
