Dvd-rom Code 10 (drive Can Not Start)

I just purchased a Gateway M675 and I was playing a video game off a CD for a couple hours and it was working fine. Then I went back to play the game again, the computer states that the CD drive does not exist. Then when I troubleshooted it it had a yellow exclamtion mark next to it so reinstalled drivers and restarted the computer. And it still says "drive can not start" and when I go to explore or run, it says drive does not exist. But I hear the drive running..when I boot it up and when I load into the desktop...What do I do? How do I fix it?

try setting the BIOS so it will boot from the drive if it isn't already, then try letting it boot from a bootable CD. If the drive doesn't boot to that CD then try reseating the drive.

you remove it and put it back in. You may need to look up a teardown for that machine to find out how to remove it if you don't know how.
